Dr. Xie is an English and Chinese speaking psychiatrist who has training in General and Child Psychiatry, Functional Medicine, and Traditional Chinese Medicine . She is passionate and committed to the wellbeing of children, families, and communities. She believes that comprehensive understanding of the unique biological, psychological, familial, cultural, and societal makeups is the most important aspect of a successful treatment plan.
Dr. Xie completed her medical school training at Hengyang Medical School in China and worked as a professor at Hengyang Medical School and Sun Yat-Sen Medical University for many years prior to her relocation to USA. She did her General Psychiatry training at Duke University and completed her Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at UC Davis.
Dr. Xie has a strong background in neurobiology research, which has enabled her to have a deep understanding of the neurobiological and developmental origins of psychiatric illnesses. She has a rich clinical experience in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. She has worked at private, not-for-profit, government, and academic institutions in the US, Singapore, Canada, and China.
